It was a big deal to go away as our daughter is coeliac and dairy free so having someone else cater safely for her is huge. But the chefs and catering staff couldn't have been more accommodating and understanding. She was not ill once and that really is incredible. No cross contamination issues, no mistakes and every day she was asked what she would like to have cooked for her. The buffet choices were explained to her if there was something there she could have. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We even had a salad box for her to take away and fruit on the days we were going out as trying to find somewhere for her to eat was impossible. We all found the food delicious overall. For a small hotel, the choices were good. If you want an enormous buffet and several different restaurants to eat in, choose a very large hotel that caters for the masses. Thank you to everyone in the catering team, far too many to name individually but all marvellous. You really made the difference between a great and bad holiday for us.
Having read reviews of the hotel, I was wondering how nice our holiday would be but I'm glad I took the reviews with a pinch of salt. Yes this hotel is not luxurious but it isn't billed as being 5* and doesn't have the price tag! They are clearly in a programme of upgrading it as maintenance work was constantly ongoing. It was not intrusive to us though. The grounds are neat and tidy, the occasional stray dog did arrive but if guests will feed them what do you expect!! There are signs saying don't feed any animals and the security guards did patrol and the dogs knew to make a hasty retreat on seeing them. But stray dogs are everywhere on this island and the hotel have fenced their grounds apart from the beach area obviously so have tried to prevent this issue.
Our rooms were huge at the front of the hotel with lovely balconies. Not modern but the hotel isn't. However, they were clean, comfy and linen was clean too. We had a kettle, tea/coffee, a fridge with bottled water each day so no complaints. If you are looking for something modern, stylish, chic etc then pay more and go elsewhere. I would recommend hiring a car as you cannot walk to any village or town but buses stop outside the hotel and taxis are available.
All in all we felt this holiday was good value for money, but best of all, our daughter was well every day to enjoy it and this hotel gets 5* for that alone. Mauritius isn't a cheap destination and this hotel made it affordable for a family of 4. I think those who want to enjoy this island without the honeymoon price tag should come here. The staff are fantastic and good customer service is worth so much more than fancy looking rooms. read less

My deluxe room was stunning- huge and extremely comfy bed, beautiful sea view and very well appointed bathroom. Air conditioning was quiet and efficient. If I needed anything I only had to ask housekeeping and she would get it for me (from ironing board and extra pillows to extra coffee). Staff were attentive and friendly- food was fairly standard but plenty of choice and variety. Bar was well stocked and staff quickly get to know your preferences.
My friend had a standard room and the difference was clear, but still had plenty of room and everything he needed.
Would have liked soft drinks to be available in the room. Having read some reviews before arriving was a little concerned but found hotel stay to be delightful.
Would recommend hiring a car for your stay. Beach was small but water warm and deep enough for splashing about. Plenty of great beaches within short driving distance. Beach towels provided for guests

Hotel has beautiful grounds and a lovely (of a little cold!) swimming pool. Room was spacious if a little dated, a corner room on the 3rd floor, with it’s own sun terrace overlooking the pool, sea and gardens. Food was really good and the chefs were happy to offer alternatives if nothing was to one’s taste (it always was!) Chef Max was fantastic making us some super spicy curries. We were all inclusive which I’d recommend. All the staff in the restaurant, bars and even housekeeping were fantastic offering really personal service. Dhiresh, Sandeeva and Vinisha were particularly amazing in the restaurant and Sonali our housekeeper was lovely with flowers regularly on our bed. The hotel is well served by local buses and taxis right outside the gate. Fabulous holiday in a great hotel! Recommended for a quiet relaxing holiday. read less
